    Hey,

My name is Kieran and I’m in the process of helping to launch a new fashion website called My Fashion Junkie.

One element of what MFJ are trying to do is to become almost like a fashion teacher- encouraging their users to make informed choices & not just ripping off magazines & shop windows (and in turn looking like a total clone). As such we want to use our Facebook fanpage as a jumping point for fashion fans to access lots of other interesting online resources.

we want one part of this to be a ‘Best of the Blogs’ section where everyday, we pick an update from a pool of no more than 10-15 international blog sites. This means that we’re giving our fans a hugely diverse view of independent fashion while also, hopefully helping to champion some of the blogs that we personally love. we’re big fans of your blog.

This would entail us lifting a recent post from your page once every 10-15 days and linking back to your site- if you don’t post that regularly, we can increase the number of days between us lifting posts- the object of the exercise is to give readers a flavour of your site, not replicate it on ours.

Let me know what you think of the idea & if you’re interested in being part of the campaign.

    All the best,

    Kieran Crosby

    Hi
i am a community development worker in Trowbridge working in an are of deprivation with the local community. One of the young local residents has come to me asking for help finding a work experience placement that will help her to learn about fashion journalism. The school has tried to put her off (i think this is because it is hard to find such a placement) but the young girl really wants to follow her ambitions. I wondered if you could help with some suggestions?

    Heya,

I’m a second year student at Cardiff University and I’m currently researching a fashion photography project. I am looking for fashion design students in and around Cardiff to interview on their work? I am particularly interested in looking at photographs of designs, understanding the process and story behind each design and photograph of it. I want to know about influences, style, photographers, inspirations etc.
    Can you help at all?

Hi I am currently a second year, Fashion Promotion student at the University for the Creative Arts in Rochester, Kent, but I was born Welsh and have lived in Wales all my life. I love the idea of this blog because Cardiff is fast becoming a place of diverse fashion trends and deserves full recognition for it’s thriving fashion industry. I have produced fashion-inspired photoshoots and a fashion film for my University projects and was wondering if you would kindly take a look at them, you are more than welcome to include one or two of them on your blog. if you so wish. I was also wondering if it would be possible to gain some work experience with you, because I hope to achieve further insight into the fashion industry and blogging, I would really appreciate the experience. Hello, I am a third year Motion design student at the atrium and have decided to create a Fashion Video for my final major project.
Currently still exploring the possibility of producing a piece featuring Karen Millen garments but am still open to ideas. If there any up and coming designers who would appreciate the benefit of video advertising then please send me images of your work. I have strong ideas for the video, so with the right clothes I feel confident it will be a professional looking piece.
Also, if anyone can suggest models who would be willing to work for expenses and the experience of working in a video then please let me know.

    Thank you

    Hey,

I’m desperate to start a career in fashion, it’s something I’v always wanted to do and regret not persuing it after I did my A-levels. I have no art background but have done a few short courses at cenral st martins in fashion design to try and make my life experiences a bit more relevant. I applied to a few universities in cardiff and most have said that I need to do an art foundation course before they will even see me. I’m willing to work for very little or even free to gain some experience and give me a shot at getting my foot through the door. I’m not fussy about what type of work it is as long as it gets me the experience I need. Have you got any advice on what I could do or places I could contact to get some experience?

    Much appreciated

    Hi Cinzia
I’ve passed your details on to the course leaders at the Uni of Glam, but you can also contact the Fashion School at the Uni of Glam if you want to discuss any options also. I will bear you in mind if I hear of anything appropriate too.

    Hello,

My name is Shekina I am originally from The Democratic Republic of Congo, I am currently studying for my A-levels in Cardiff. I am desperate to make a career for myself in the fashion industry and plan to go on to study fashion design at university. I currently work part-time at Peacocks in the city centre to earn some extra money, but I would like to find another part-time job which would provide the opportunity to gain more experience of the fashion industry besides the retail sector. I am passionate about all aspects of fashion and am always looking to broaden my horizons and learn more about fashion.
I wonder if you would have any suggestions for what type of work I should look for and where I might find this type of work – there are loads of retail jobs around but I am keen to keep learning new things that can help me in my career. I would really aprreciate any advice you might be able to offer.

    Thank you
    Shekina.

    Hey guyys,

My name’s Kieran and i’m the marketing manager for Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair, the largest vintage fair in the UK.

I wanted to get in touch because we’re having our welsh debut in 2 weeks time [13/2/11] over at Cardiff SU and we’d love to discuss a feature with you folks.

I’ve got a press release to wing your way [just let me know an appropriate email] but here’s the skinny on us…

Now in our sixth year, we’re the largest vintage fair in the UK, stretching from Scotland to the South Coast. Bound by affordability and featuring stock from the twenties and beyond, we’re a fave of Asos, Stylist, Elle and Vogue and can count celebs such as George Lamb, Daisy Lowe, Brix Smith-Start and the Allen sisters [i know Sarah's surname isn't actually Allen but hey, let's not get hung up on technicalities mmmk] as fans. We were chosen last year to curate Wayne Hemingway’s ‘Vintage at Goodwood’ festival, putting the marketplace together and bringing in 50,000 revelers and we’re doing the same this year, bringing the festivities to London’s South Bank. Think 200 traders running down the Thames on a hot, July day and boom – Rule Britannia!

Anyway, enough spiel. We’re all about showcasing talent and so would love to collaborate with you lovely folk. Drop me an email on the address above and let’s get the ball rolling.

Danke sehr and all the best,

    Kieran x
